Roy Keane had to make a jab at the Celtics, despite Gary Neville’s claims that the atmosphere at Ibrox during the Rangers game was the finest he’s ever experienced.
When the topic of atmospheres came up, the panellists on the Stick to Football podcast (7 February) talked about their best and worst experiences in Europe.

The legend of Manchester United, Neville, was reminiscing about a time when his team visited Ibrox for a game, saying the noise was unlike anything he had ever heard.

He remarked, “As the game was about to start, Ibrox had the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen in my life.” “What the hell is this, I wondered.

It’s common knowledge that Ibrox has the loudest stadium or the finest atmosphere among former players, and if Neville experienced it when playing for Manchester United, then Keane undoubtedly did as well.

In this storied stadium in Britain, the fervent and boisterous supporters never stop cheering for their side and attempting to influence the game by scaring the opposition and encouraging their players.

Only an Old Firm derby can compare to or surpass the unique atmosphere of the stadium on a European night. Just ask teams like PSV Eindhoven, RB Leipzig, Braga, Red Star Belgrade, and Borussia Dortmund.
