Rangers can axe Wright by unleashing “exciting” teen who does “things out of nothing”

Only three players were added by Glasgow Rangers in the January transfer window, but all three have the potential to be important members of the team come May. With a goal in the Gers’ 3-0 victory over Livingston the previous weekend, Fabio Silva has already made an impression, and Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande are two terrific young players who could add some new energy to the starting lineup.

If Philippe Clement had a larger budget, he could have been able to add one or two more players to his roster, but he would have had to make some roster moves last month as a result.

Shipping off some deadwood may have been the appropriate move, especially with certain first team players not really contributing, despite the demanding schedule the Ibrox side will face in the upcoming months.

Beale declared, “Wright remains a Rangers player for the foreseeable future until anything changes. Wright was granted a reprieve, but he hasn’t fully utilized it.
Since the Belgian’s arrival in October of last year, the 26-year-old has only scored twice this season, both in cup games, and he hasn’t really made an impression on Clement.

Even when he does play, the former Aberdeen gem’s performances have fallen short of his potential, as evidenced by his current lowly 14th place ranking in the top flight for shots per game (1.4), 21st place for big chances created (one), and 15th place for successful dribbles per game (0.4).

Under the present system, he has only started three games, and in the summer, he might be declared surplus to needs.

This would leave Ross McCausland as the sole right-winger available to the Gers. However, is it possible that the 49-year-old tactician will find another academy product to replace Wright in the upcoming months?

Under Clement, McCausland has now solidified his place in the senior squad, although Archie Stevens, another gifted academy wide player, has the potential to succeed Wright in the future.

Stevens moved from AFC Wimbledon to the club in the summer of 2022, when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was still the manager. Despite interest from other teams, Stevens thought that Ibrox was the ideal place for him to further his career.

In August 2022, he made his senior debut with Paul Nsio and Zak Lovelace during a League Cup match against Queen of the South. Stevens showcased his skills in an interview conducted last summer.

“I’ve had fun appearing in the games that I have thus far. My primary skills are dribbling and quickness; I play on the wing,” the self-assured young player said. “I consider myself to be a pretty exciting player to watch when I have the ball. I am a positive player who likes to get forward.”
