Chris Sutton reveals ‘biggest’ Celtic problem in reversing Rangers title swing as Ibrox belief only grow

Chris Sutton has cautioned Celtic that their inability to be consistent will be their biggest obstacle in stopping Rangers’ title challenge.

With Philippe Clement’s team on the rise, Brendan Rodgers has watched a seven-point lead at the top of the Premiership standings vanish. Since taking Michael Beale’s spot, the Belgian has only lost once. If the Hoops coach hadn’t overcome him at Parkhead, he would already be at the top of the standings.

However, the champions have struggled against Kilmarnock and Hearts before losing to Aberdeen this past weekend, while the Light Blues have been outstanding against everyone else. If Rodgers hopes to give himself some breathing room and re-establish a three-point buffer at the top, he cannot let his winless streak against the Hibs continue tonight. Sutton believes that Rangers have the momentum, and that can be a powerful force to counter since confidence at Ibrox grows with each victory.
However, that wasn’t always the case, and Rodgers is better than most at continuing an extended winning streak. Sutton, though, has pushed his old team to improve in reaction to the Rangers comeback.
Since Philippe Clement joined Rangers, “there’s a very obvious momentum swing,” he said to Sky Sports. “He is assembling a group of people who, each week, are gaining faith.

“They managed to prevail this evening, but ultimately, they were at ease.” Although it wasn’t very attractive, they crossed the line. The main issue facing Celtic is their erratic play.

Under Brendan Rodgers, they don’t have a fantastic record at Easter Road, therefore it’s time for Celtic to visit and react.
