‘He needs to explain’: Chris Sutton states who is to blame for transfer mess, calls out Celtic figure

Chris Sutton has stated unequivocally that there is a “collective” responsibility for Celtic’s inaction during the January transfer window.Chris Sutton states who is to blame for Celtic’s January transfer ...From wanting to sign players with more quality and experience to requiring a left-back. Never mind that one of those players showed up; zero came through the Parkhead door.

As you would guess, Brendan Rodgers came out and said that the team can “be braver” in the transfer market, which only served to irritate and disappoint Celtic fans.

Chris Sutton told Sky Sports Football (03/02/24 @ 11:55 am) that he was eager for the manager to “explain” his remarks so “everyone can understand where the blame lies.”

It’s evident that Brendan Rodgers has been demanding higher quality for several months now. Those remarks were clearly heard.

Even if the team performed well against Rangers, the performances haven’t exactly improved after then.

Even though the authorities had known this for a while, the winter’s lack of activity was troubling and is still so today.

Chris Sutton sought an explanation for those transfer remarks and the reasons behind the disastrous recruitment process, or lack thereof.

Celtic’s trade in transfers

Sutton stated, “Brendan Rodgers stated he wanted quality in, then signed two players, Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn.” In my opinion, they are both developing players.

“When Brendan discussed introducing quality. Everyone, I believe, was expecting more seasoned, proven athletes. They haven’t crossed the boundary, for whatever reason.

In the end, it appears that they failed to grow from their errors. They lost out in the Champions League as a result of their mishandling of the summer transfer window. A truly dismal European campaign hasn’t improved the situation.

When January finally arrives, you’re expecting Celtic to take the initiative in light of Brendan’s remarks. From what I can tell, Celtic has been in dire need of a left-back for a very long time. They haven’t made any hires there.

There seems to be some sort of blame game going on over who is at fault. It seems like a collective to me. When Brendan finally speaks, he mentions “the need to be braver.” He ought to clarify it, in my opinion, so that everyone knows who is to blame.

Brendan Rodgers is under more pressure.

If the team’s performance keeps declining, supporters will use to social media to express their frustration, which will only put undue strain on the manager and the players.

For Rodgers, the situation is made worse by the unsettling performances that have been given by him. He is free to discuss transfers or the absence of them all he wants, but it shouldn’t deter him from improving the play of his current players.

Some people seem to have forgotten that many of these players have won multiple Triple Crowns. The previous season under Ange Postecoglou, they had a totally different appearance.

However, it appears that everything is changing, and Rodgers has a great deal of the blame for that.
