‘My Apology’ – Rangers-bound ace reacts to ‘Incident’ in transfer window

In response to his unsuccessful attempt to sign with Rangers during the January transfer window, Jefte has apologised to APOEL on social media.The full-back gave an explanation on his Instagram stories on February 2nd for why he was thought to have gone missing while the Light Blues were trying to recruit him from his parent club Fluminense before Deadline Day.

Although Rangers and the Brazilian team were reportedly close to finalising a permanent deal, the Cypriots reportedly demanded a sum of money equivalent to £400,000 in order to terminate the player’s loan.

In the end, it made an Ibrox switch unfeasible, but Fabrizio Romano says he is still anticipated to sign with Glasgow at the end of the campaign following a verbal agreement.

Through the Scottish Sun, the 20-year-old wrote: “I would like to communicate my apology for being absent to all APOEL fans, my teammates, the coach, the president, and the entire club staff.” I decided to leave the club after the incident because I didn’t feel like I could help it at the time.

“The institution, as it has been over the past few months and as it will going forward, deserves all of my devotion, attention, and dedication.

Rangers must wait for a highly sought-after defender

Jefte was prepared to sign with Rangers right immediately, but in the end, it was not possible, so he was likely forced to settle his differences at APOEL for the upcoming months.

The position of left back became increasingly important during the January transfer window, but neither of the incumbents who were linked to leaving, Ridvan Yilmaz nor Borna Barisic, have left, thus for the duration of the season, things appear to be as they were.

Rangers may have a one-in, one-out deal in place for the young Brazilian if an agreement is reached to sign the Croatian, whose contract expires in the summer.
