‘Huge Blow’ – Tam McManus shares Rangers concern after what he’s seen

Tam McManus calls Danilo’s absence “a huge blow” and expresses concern about the limited choices available to the Rangers.Summertime acquisition Due to a knee injury he suffered against Hearts in December, Danilo was out for four months.

In the January transfer window, Rangers added midfielder Mohamed Diomande and forward duo Fabio Silva and Oscar Cortes, but McManus feels they are still short on options.

On PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show [2 February, 20:51], McManus stated, “When you look at the top of the pitch, Silva is still to settle and the pressure is really on Cyriel Dessers to get the goals.”

“He’s performed well lately, but I believe they should get Danilo back as soon as possible.”

When asked if the Rangers team might surpass Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, McManus replied, “Time will tell.” That’s not a very good selection of wingers.

“They rely too much on Dessers, and they could have used a right-sider.” Silva tends to stray, therefore he’s not a pure goal scorer. I saw him against Hibs. With Sima gone, the team has lost ten or fifteen goals.

Right now, Phillipe Clement has Rabbi Matondo and Cortes as his alternatives on one flank and Ross McCausland and Scott Wright as his wide options on the right.

Even while all of them—aside from newcomer Cortes, who has joined on loan from Lens—have had their moments in the spotlight for the Gers this season, those are hardly the most exciting alternatives.

Rangers essentially only have Dessers as a striker because Silva isn’t a pure goal scorer, Danilo isn’t available, and Kemar Roofe can’t seem to stay healthy.

Supporters were upset that Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland was not acquired during the January transfer window for this reason.

With the team he took over from Michael Beale and the addition of a few more players, Clement has nevertheless done marvels, and there’s no reason the Gers can’t defeat Celtic in the upcoming weeks.
