Deadline-Day Shankland update emerges at Rangers amid word from Tynecastle – report

Lawrence Shankland’s move to the Rangers on deadline day now appears unlikely, as the Daily Record reports that his chances of leaving Hearts in the next few hours are now “minimal.”On February 1, the newspaper wrote on its website that, although there has been a lot of discussion about a potential move, nothing official has come from Ibrox, though it was also mentioned that one should never rule anything out during the final hours.

Potential transfers to English Championship teams have also been discussed, but according to reports from Hearts, no club has even called to inquire about Shankland this month.

Although Hearts hasn’t received any calls yet, it’s not unusual for anxiety to spread during the final hours of the transfer window. Given that Rangers is still searching for a new striker this month, a last-minute deal may still be possible despite the slim odds.

The Daily Record noted that Ibrox had not made any noise regarding their interest, and the connections appeared to stem from the fact that Rangers are in need of a striker, and Shankland is the most qualified candidate to fill that role.

Hearts’ first aim this month was to keep the top scorer in the SPFL at Tynecastle, and it appears they may have succeeded. However, if Rangers decide to make a last-minute rush to sign him in response to their rumoured interest, it is definitely something to watch.
