The Daily Record claims that with David Turnbull about to sign a £2 million contract with Cardiff City, the Hoops are eager to sign a new central midfield player.

The story goes on to say that in addition to moving for Adam Idah on loan from Norwich, the Scottish powerhouses also seek another left-back alternative.

The article also notes that Harrison Burrows, a full-back for Peterborough United, has been mentioned as a potential transfer to Parkhead before the deadline expires. Burrows would be a fantastic substitute for Layvin Kurzawa.
Kurzawa may not be the best choice for Celtic.

The French left-back from Ligue 1 winner Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly interested in joining the Hoops, according to a report from Sky Sports earlier today.

But Kurzawa is supposedly paid £89k a week, and given his history of injuries and recent performance, it seems unlikely that he would be worth such a large financial commitment.

Since the beginning of the 2021–2022 season, the 31-year-old defender has only appeared in eight games in all competitions for PSG and Fulham combined, recording one assist in those contests.

Kurzawa, who has played eight minutes of competitive football this season, last made frequent appearances for PSG in Ligue 1 during the 2020–21 campaign, when he produced one assist and 0.5 crucial passes per game.

Therefore, if Celtic signed Kurzawa, they would be buying a high-paid, underperforming, senior defender who hasn’t played regularly in a while to improve his match fitness.

Instead, the Hoops ought to make a late move to sign Burrows, a youthful, energetic, and aggressive left-back who has made frequent appearances for Peterborough this season.

The 22-year-old gem would have a better chance of starting right away because he wouldn’t need to regain match sharpness after missing three starts in the EFL Trophy for the English team and 28 starts in League One for the Posh.

The English wizard, who is rumoured to be worth £3.2k per week, might also be less expensive than Kurzawa while yet being able to provide more for the Bhoys on the pitch.
