Clement to be left with virtually no time, late bid on cards for new Rangers “fan fave”

The Daily Record claims that Hellas Verona may yet make a desperate attempt to grab Rangers star Cyriel Dessers during the January transfer window.

On Wednesday, January 31, the tabloid stated on its website that the Serie A team is still keen to make a deal to sign the Nigerian international.

The Italian team will need to move swiftly, as a possible deal for the 29-year-old forward would essentially give Philippe Clement no time to find a replacement until Thursday, February 1st, at 11:30 p.m.

At this late point in the transfer window, there is no way that Rangers would approve Dessers’ departure.

Many supporters of the Gers would have been delighted to see him go this month, but in the last few weeks, his circumstances have taken a significant turn for the worse.

The forward is finally proving to be the player the team paid a respectable number of money to get last summer, and his performances and goals have swiftly made him a fan favourite at Ibrox.

Due to multiple injuries, Clement’s choices for forwards are now limited, therefore he cannot afford to allow one of his few strikers depart Glasgow.

You can pretty well assume that this one won’t happen before the deadline because it would require a hefty transfer price for the Light Blues to even entertain a sale.
