Rangers chiefs hope to seal another new transfer at Ibrox after Jefte news

Rangers chiefs are hoping that Fluminese will cut short the loan of Jefte at APOEL so he can seal his move to Ibrox before the January transfer deadline, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported on its website that a three-year contract is awaiting his arrival in Glasgow, with the clock ticking before February 1

The Brazilian would follow Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande to Govan with Philippe Clement hopeful of more new arrivals to add to his squad.

Long game.

Patience is always key in the transfer window, especially in January.

Most deals don’t tend to happen until the final few days after dominoes have fallen into place at many different clubs, opening the door for more action.

Jefte is a name that has come out of nowhere, but his experience with APOEL in European football could serve him well ahead of a step up to Ibrox.

If everything can be ironed out quickly after he was left out of the most recent matchday squad over in Cyprus, this move could be sorted before the weekend is over.

That would then leave John Bennett and his team with a couple more days to potentially get another new name over the line, with Lawrence Shankland the obvious name.

Jefte is first though, and that looks to be getting closer by the hour with fans no doubt watching flight trackers from Cyprus to Scotland very shortly.
