Ross County created a few worrisome moments for the Celtic defence and even fancied nicking a point towards the end of the match despite the Bhoys dominating possession. Brendan Rodgers reacts to Celtic win over Ross County After the match, Rodgers told BBC Radio Scotland: “It was a good result. Those games can be stuffy. I think we made it a little bit more difficult when we missed the penalties. We made a great start to go 1-0 up so early, so that was really good. “I think the penalty misses took a little bit out of the crowd and, maybe, the team. It was then, in the first half, a little bit more frustrating. We didn’t quite play with the tempo and structure we wanted to.

“The second half was much better. We didn’t give too much away, we created opportunities and didn’t quite take them. “In any game, if you’re 1-0 and going into those last moments then, of course, there can be that little bit of anxiety. The players managed it well. Joe Hart only had one save to make late on and then we closed the game out.” Celtic FC v Ross County FC – Cinch Scottish Premiership Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images Celtic now have a tricky run of matches on the horizon. Trips to Pittodrie and Easter Road are on the way in quick succession, before playing St Mirren in Paisley in the Scottish Cup. Improvement in performance is definitely needed to stretch a six-game winning streak to nine on the road. Rodgers didn’t sound too concerned about his team today and focused on picking up the three points, but we don’t want to see displays regress to what we witnessed before the festive period.
