Steven Naismith provides clear Hearts transfer stance as Jambos await Scott Fraser confirmation

Steven Naismith won’t be looking to make any further signings for Hearts in January provided he gets Scott Fraser over the line and nobody leaves. Everything had been agreed for the midfielder to move to Tynecastle on loan from Charlton Athletic with a medical also completed but then there was a delay at the Addicks’ end.

The Jambos are still hopeful of adding the former Dundee United player to their squad for the rest of the season but are still awaiting official confirmation. Once that’s done, the manager doesn’t feel he needs to bolster his squad any further unless any players move out. They came into the window with the main priority of adding a right-back and succeeded early on with the signing of Dexter Lembikisa on loan from Wolves, and he’s shown up well in his appearances so far.

He told the Edinburgh News: “We aren’t in the market for anybody else but players might move on. If players move on and we feel we need to replace in that position, then we will look to do it. Nobody will move on if we are not comfortable with it. “The only other thing would be if something comes up that we think is going to be good for us longer-term, and we can do it, then we would do it. But I’m not actively looking for anything specific.
