After signing Fabio Silva on loan, the Gers have been connected to a number of players in an attempt to give themselves the best opportunity of winning the Scottish Premiership this year.

After an outstanding loan run this season, a recent source stated that Rangers are putting a lot of effort toward permanently signing Abdallah Sima; however, other arrivals are also being discussed. Joe Gelhardt, a striker for Leeds United, has surfaced as a potential addition. Celtic, the team’s adversary, is also keen to get the young Englishman, who has fallen out of favor with the Whites. More attacking additions appear to be a focus this month.

There are also lingering rumors of a bid for Hearts’ in-form hero Lawrence Shankland, a 28-year-old who could provide goals right away at Ibrox. But certain players might leave, and Ridvan Yilmaz is one who is very likely to go, so the team will need to find a new left-back if that happens. In that regard, a number of suitors have surfaced, notably Bristol City veteran Cameron Pring and Liverpool youngster Owen Beck.
Rangers and Mohamed Diomande agree on a fee.

Danish newspaper B.T. reports (via Ibrox News) that Rangers and FC Nordsjaelland have agreed on a fee for the midfield player Mohamed Diomande to join.

To finalize the transfer, the player is reportedly taking a plane home from a training camp in the United States with his present team. A medical examination is scheduled for “in the coming days.”

Diomande, who has made four appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, is someone who might go right in and make a major effect at the center of the midfield, which is fantastic news for Rangers.

He has made 111 appearances for his current club, contributing 14 assists and 13 goals, demonstrating his ability to be a consistent middle-of-the-park producer.
With games coming up thick and fast as the season progresses, Clement may find that extra depth and quality is invaluable during the January transfer window, and Diomande may provide just that. Flemming Pederson, the former coach of Nordsjaelland, has also praised him in the past, stating in 2020:

“He is a versatile player. He frequently occupies a lot of space in the midfield, where he performs at his peak. He is a versatile player that plays a wide range. He dribbles the ball well. He is physically strong, a decent ball winner, and fairly strong in the main game. He’ll also emerge as one of our key players once he adjusts to the Super League.”
Diomande, who is 22 years old, is still a young player whose greatest years may still be ahead of him. As such, he might be initially considered a squad player while he gets used to the pace and strength of the Scottish game before developing into a significant starter over time.
