Rangers agree fee for FC Nordsjaelland ace Mohamed Diomande as Ibrox medical scheduled

The publication reported on its online edition on Sunday (21 January) that Diomande is flying home from Nordsjaelland’s training camp in the United States.ClementThe report, written by Farzam Abolhosseini, adds that the Ivory Coast age-grade international will undergo a medical with Rangers “in the coming days”.

Room for one more?

Three weeks on from confirming the signing of Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves, Rangers appear to have their second January deal over the line.

Not a lot is known about Diomande, but he certainly seems to be a talented player going by what has been written on him in the local media.

Diomande is a central midfielder who is able to play in a holding role or more advanced, so he certainly ticks plenty of boxes for Philippe Clement.

Most exciting of all is that the Ivorian is able to contribute fairly regularly to goals, having scored five and assisted four in 32 games last season.

A new striker would still be very much welcome at Ibrox before the transfer window closes, but this is now two positions that have been added to.

Sam Lammers may have been farmed out to Utrecht, but the brutal truth is that Rangers will miss nothing with him not around.

If that elusive goalscorer can now be brought in over the next 10 days, it will be a hugely impressive window for the Light Blues.
