Philippe Clement offers Abdallah Sima Rangers injury update as AFCON throws up nightmare scenario

Rangers boss Philippe Clement has stated that he’s already spoken to Abdallah Sima after the winger picked up an injury after flying out to play for Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.Sima earned a dream call-up to the continental tournament with his form for Rangers marking him out as one of the best in the Scottish.

Premiership this campaign, and with Senegal installed as one of the tournament’s early favourites, big things were expected from Sima and his nation.But a thigh injury before he even played a minute for Aliou Cisse’s men has killed the dreams of the Rangers star in terms of featuring on the big stage, and as a result there were big fears in the Ibrox ranks over just how long he would be out of action for. But Clement states that Sima will be returning to Glasgow as soon as possible in a bid to learn the extent of his injury, adding that he’s been in contact with Sima after the winger posted an update on his situation.
