Celtic’s £20m bid would be accpeted – loan-to-buy possible

Liverpool will ask for a fee of £20million for reported Celtic target Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Since Joe Hart’s contract is set to expire in May, Celtic is searching for a new goalkeeper. The Hoops have been heavily linked to a possible move for the Republic of Ireland international.
But, Liverpool is expected to demand £20 million in exchange for academy product Kelleher, which would mean Celtic would make a club record acquisition.

Despite strong interest in the stopper, it is thought that no club is going to come close to matching that valuation.

CelticFootball Insider has learned from a reliable source that if Liverpool lowers their asking price, the Hoops may prefer a loan-to-buy arrangement for the goalie.
Kelleher is eager to go away from Anfield quickly in order to play first team football somewhere.

This season, he has made 11 starts in all competitions, giving up 14 goals while maintaining two clean sheets.
The shot-stopper, who is now Southampton’s Gavin Bazunu’s superior in the international rankings, has a contract with the Merseysiders expiring in June 2026. He last extended it in 2021.

Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist are also signed by Celtic at Parkhead, although they want to search for a new top player during the summer transfer window.
The Hoops have played two more games than their rivals Rangers, yet they are currently eight points ahead in the Scottish Premiership.
