The £1 million Celtic star “one of the best trainers I’ve come across” and still excellent, Barry Ferguson explains

You would expect by the summer that Celtic will bring in another goalkeeper to either replace or challenge Joe Hart.

More than likely, with the 36-year-old’s Celtic contract expiring in the summer, he will leave and Brendan Rodgers will bring in a new face to become the outright number one.

Joe Hart, who played under Barry Ferguson at Birmingham City in his youth, told Go Radio that Ferguson was “one of the best trainers.”

Barry Ferguson, who called the 75-cap England international a “top keeper,” believes the player hasn’t changed over the years.
This season, Joe Hart has had a few dubious moments. These included the Champions League and the terrifying spell in December.
However, that shouldn’t take away from the excellent service he has given Celtic since joining them in 2021 after leaving Tottenham for £1 million.
Few people can confidently declare themselves to be Treble champions with the Bhoys, but Joe Hart does, and Barry Ferguson has nothing but praise for the player.

Joe Hart from Celtic

Ferguson commented on the goalkeeping position at Parkhead, saying, “I’m sure that’s an area of the pitch Celtic will look to strengthen.”
“Recall my earlier remarks regarding Joe Hart from a few months ago. He is an excellent goalie. He is getting along, I know that. However, 10 years, or somewhat more, ago, when I played with Joe, he still had the same appearance. He takes good care of himself and is among the greatest trainers I have ever encountered.
“I’m sure they’ll want to keep an eye on the future and try to get someone to replace Joe in that role.”

Celtic taking Joe Hart’s place
With two years remaining on his contract, Caoimhin Kelleher, the backup goalkeeper for Liverpool, has been mooted as a potential summer addition.

It would be a fantastic coup if the Celtic authorities could pull this out.
At this point in his career, the 25-year-old needs to be playing frequently, and Celtic may give him that.
Additionally, the Ireland international would be joining Liverpool, one of the top teams in Europe, and having studied under one of the greatest players in the world, Alisson Becker.
