Lawrence Shankland offered ‘record-breaking deal’ as new Rangers plan revealed

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Rangers are closely monitoring Hearts star Lawrence Shankland but might have to wait until the summer.

Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke disclosed in an interview with the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast that the talisman has been given a “record-breaking deal” to remain at Tynecastle, but he has not yet agreed to new terms.

It’s thought that the Gers will try to entice Shankland to Ibrox if he doesn’t sign a new contract with the Hearts.
Rangers are closely monitoring the Scotland international’s circumstances in Edinburgh, but it would be challenging to finalize a deal this month.

Shankland, who has scored 18 goals in 28 games in all competitions for the Jambos, is the highest scorer in the Scottish premier division this season.

After continuously successful seasons with Hearts, the center-forward has been linked to a move to the Glasgow giants on multiple occasions.

With just 18 months remaining on his present contract, Rangers could be well-positioned to sign Shankland in the summer on more favorable terms.

After striking a historic deal for Wolves star Fabio Silva, Philippe Clement’s team is still looking to add players this month.

Football Insider (17 January) has received information from sources indicating that they are following Tommy Conway, the hotshot player for Bristol City, along with Celtic and Premier League teams Wolves, Nottingham Forest, and Brentford.
Rangers, who have two games remaining, are eight points behind Celtic in the league standings.

Their next match is this Saturday, January 20, against Dumbarton, a fourth-tier team, in the Scottish Cup.

In other developments, a commentator predicts that the Summer signing is expected to agree to a permanent move to the Rangers.
