Celtic transfer news as Lawrence Shankland ‘spoken about’ and Hakon Valdimarsson deal lands a cryptic response

Stefan Andreasson, director of football, has acknowledged that Celtic may make a move for Elfsborg’s top player, Hakon Valdimarsson, this month.

As the leaders of the Scottish Premiership set to challenge Joe Hart for the balance of the season, Record Sport knows the club is keenly monitoring the goalkeeping situation. This summer, the 36-year-old’s contract at Parkhead ends, and with his future uncertain, Brendan Rodgers appears to be considering his options. There are rumors that Iceland’s top player, Valdimarsson, is being considered.

According to reports, Aston Villa and FC Copenhagen have also shown interest in the 22-year-old, but the Swedish team is desperate to keep him with the team until the summer. Before the end of the month, though, club president Andreasson left the door open for a bidding war. When Fotbollskanalen asked him about his future, the goalie responded, “I think we have to live with this speculation until the end of January.” We are not currently in talks about Hakon with any team.”
In an effort to bolster their front line, Celtic will also take Lawrence Shankand into consideration. That is the opinion of analyst Stephen McGinn, who believes that the leaders of the Scottish Premiership may still pursue the captain of Hearts this summer.
When rumors of a transfer to the Rangers first surfaced this month, McGinn said on Go Radio, “I thought it was a no-brainer for Rangers at one point.” I am aware of how it feels to be single in this city; everyone, even their grandmother, wants to know what’s going on. He must be happy to be playing football again.

Celtic, in my opinion, needs another striker. Kyogo is the star player; I believe he cemented that point with the previous Rangers match; yet, when Oh enters the game with 20 minutes remaining and looking to win, they lack that special ability that Lawrence Shankland possesses to steal a goal. He is undoubtedly someone who has been discussed.”
Sydney van Hooijdonk has also been mentioned as a potential transfer; nevertheless, the Dutchman could have to wait patiently to get out of Bologna. The Premiership champions were linked to the son of former Hoops great Pierre last summer, but he hasn’t seen an increase in playing time in Serie A.

According to Corriere dello Sport, a trade cannot be made until a replacement is found. According to the report, Bologna has no intentions for the striker in the future.
