Todd Cantwell sends four-word message to Rabbi Matondo after what happened in Rangers v FC Copenhagen

Matondo and fellow attacker Cyriel Dessers were on the scoresheet as the Gers drew 2-2 with the Danish club in a friendly.

Ibrox played host to the clash after the Scottish giants returned home from their warm weather training camp in Spain.

The match represented the club’s final test before their return to competitive action, with the Gers having also played a friendly against Hertha, losing 1-0.

Taking to social media to celebrate Matondo’s goal at Ibrox, Cantwell posted on Instagram: “Rabbi doing Rabbi things.”

After a busy start to life at Ibrox for manager Philippe Clement, a warm weather break will have done him and his players a lot of good.

But the man in the dugout also needed his players to stay match fit, which was the reason behind the friendly tests against Hertha and Copenhagen.

Clement will have been more interested in the performances than the results, even if the fans would have liked to have seen a victory against the Danish side at Ibrox.

Competitive action now looms, with the Gers travelling to Dumbarton on Saturday (20 January) for a Scottish Cup fourth round tie.

The manager will be desperate to advance to the next round in that competition as he looks to clinch more silverware in his debut season at Ibrox, having already lifted the League Cup.

A tough league test is then up next, with Rangers travelling to Edinburgh on Wednesday (24 January) to take on Hibernian.
