Rangers: Sky Sports journalist shares what Philippe Clement told him about next new signings at Ibrox

So far, the Gers have only signed Fabio Silva on a Wolves loan; Sam Lammers has been loaned to Utrecht for the remainder of the season. The Gers may need to prioritize their outbound activities before focusing on the few other players who have been linked to a move to Ibrox. In a live interview with Sky Sports News on January 17, at 3:40 p.m., Benstead stated: “Rangers have only added one player, Fabio Silva, but they want to accomplish more.”

“Philippe Clement has to handle the left-back position, as I discussed with him last night. There are doubts about both of their left backs. “Ridvan Yilmaz has been connected to numerous clubs, while Borna Barisic is nearing the end of his contract.
According to Clement, he cannot be left with just one left-back, and because it takes time, they are unable to conduct business at the highest level of the field. Silva’s surprise signing before the transfer market even opened hinted Rangers meant business this month.

But since then, not much has happened—only one player has left, and no new activity has been coming in. That’s not to say that deals aren’t being worked on behind the scenes, but before the deadline of February 1st, it might come down to one in, one out.
Galatasaray reportedly wants Ridvan Yilmaz, which may bring in a few million pounds.

If so, Clement will undoubtedly receive funding to sign a forward or, preferably, a replacement for him at left back.

Even while the window is still open for two weeks, the Gers are quickly running out of time to complete any more transactions.

Furthermore, considering how closely contested the Scottish Premiership title race is, that one addition might have a huge impact.
