Josh Doig’s Marseille move collapses, Celtic could move for £4.5m-rated defender

Former left back for Hibernians Josh Doig’s transfer to Marseille fell through at the last minute. Before Hellas Verona terminated the agreement, the 6′ 2″ defender was scheduled to join Gattuso’s Ligue 1 team.

Doig, who spent his time at Hibernian and was strongly connected to Celtic, was the target of an agreed-upon £4.5 million fee. But his club had a change of heart because the athlete was allegedly getting ready for a flight to the South of France.

Sassuolo is anticipated to enter the competition for the player and be prepared to provide a more alluring package in exchange for the Scottish defender’s services. Could Celtic make a move, though, given that the £4.5 million figure is very close to Doig’s asking price?
