According to Sky Sports, Nicolas Kuhn, a forward for Rapid Wien, began his medical examination with the Scottish powerhouses on Monday in London in preparation for joining the team.

After reaching a £3 million agreement with the Austrian team, the talented winger is about to sign a four-and-a-half year contract with the Hoops.
Kuhn fills one of the three positions that Brendan Rodgers is looking to fill in the January transfer window: winger, central midfielder, and center-forward. This information was revealed by Football Insider last month.

Now that a new number nine has been acquired, the Northern Irish head coach can focus on finding one to challenge Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeon-gyu Oh in the second half of the season.
Celtic’s pursuit of a forward

At the beginning of this month, journalist Graeme Bailey reported that the Hoops were thinking about making a move to recruit Lawrence Shankland, a striker for Hearts.

Still, a number of teams, including Southampton, Hull, Burnley, Everton, and Sheffield United, are considering making a move for the Scotland international.

Rangers have expressed interest in their top marksman, who is expected to fetch at least £3 million from the Jam Tarts, according to Football Insider. But because they lack the money to spend £3 million for the forward, the Light Blues might have to wait until the summer.

This indicates that in order to acquire the Scottish attacker, Celtic would have to offer a respectable price and possibly persuade him to decline offers from the Premier League and Championship in favor of a move to Parkhead.

Rodgers might, however, strike gold by swooping in for Sydney van Hooijdonk of Bologna, the son of former Hoops scorer Pierre, and replacing Shankland.

Werder Bremen of Germany and Celtic, according to Italian publication 1000 Cuori Rossoblu, are reportedly interested in acquiring the Dutch center striker.

The 23-year-old whiz is reportedly scheduled to leave Bologna, where he has had difficulty getting regular playing time this season. This could present an opportunity for the Bhoys to sign him.

Though the Hearts skipper is a very appealing choice for the Hoops on paper, he may be a great substitute for paying out £3 million for Shankland.
