Rangers respond to new Yilmaz transfer offer - Sky Sports

It is said that Hellas Verona are the current frontrunners for Yilmaz, who currently looks set to leave Ibrox before the end of the month.

Yilmaz is currently in La Manga for the warm-weather training camp, with Philippe Clement even starting him in the 1-0 defeat against Hertha Berlin on Saturday 13 January.

The Belgian was sent off in that one and changed the entire side at half-time, with no clear indication that the defender is set to leave the club imminently.

With the interest in Yilmaz growing with each passing day and bids now starting to be made, it looks as though it will be sooner rather than later.

The Turkish international has been starting consistently under Clement, which has been mainly forced due to the injury of Borna Barisic.

Rangers are said to be on the lookout for a new left-back of their own though, and if they can bring in some of the millions spent on the 22-year-old, it would be good business.

It looks as though with big money spent in the summer, Rangers may need to sell a couple before they launch attacks of their own as we near the midway stage of the month.

No concrete moves have been made for a new left-back as things stand, and with Yilmaz no closer to leaving given this rejection, we may be forced to wait a little while longer.

All eyes are on this one at Ibrox in the coming days, with a new improved offer potentially now on the cards.
