Rangers could now be in pole position to sign Leeds United

On Sunday, January 14, the Sun journalist revealed on his Patreon that West Brom is also considering the 21-year-old. Nixon went on to say that since Celtic is also interested, it could be more practical for the Whites to loan Gelhardt to a Scottish team.

Rangers could be in pole position to sign Leeds United man Joe Gelhardt
Of course, Rangers has only recently signed Wolves striker Fabio Silva on loan as an attacker. However, Gelhardt might join him this month as manager Philippe Clement looks to bolster his team ahead of what promises to be an extremely difficult final stretch.

The Gers have their work cut out for them in the Scottish Cup and Europa League in addition to having to overcome arch rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
Although Clement has already won a trophy—the League Cup—during his brief tenure at Ibrox, the manager will be eager for additional triumphs this year.

And scoring goals will be one way to do that, and Leeds youngster Gelhardt is more than capable of doing just that.

Daniel Farke has given the striker little opportunity at Elland Road this season, giving him little over 300 minutes of playing time in all competitions.

Rangers would be a good fit for the out-of-favor forward, but the team would have to let go of one of their own first.

At the moment, the Scottish giants rarely have place for another attacker, with players like Silva, Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, Abdallah Sima, Kemar Roofe, and Sam Lammers in their ranks.
