Tashreeq Matthews: Rangers linked to South African ex-Borussia Dortmund winger

The latest player to be linked to a transfer to Rangers is Tashreeq Matthews, but there may be competition for the South African winger’s signing at the Ibrox.

Reports are stating that Rangers and AZ Alkmaar are interested in a deal for the 23-year-old, who presently turns out with Swedish Allsvenkan side IK Sirius.

During his tenure with the German powerhouses, Matthews went on loan to play for Utrecht in the Netherlands and Helsingborgs in Sweden. In 2020, he joined Varbergs in Sweden.

Tashreeq Matthews, who joined IK Sirius two years later, has made an impression during his time there, and Rangers supporters will be keeping a close eye on him as Philippe Clement attempts to bolster his team.
