Bologna open talks for Celtic teenager Rocco

In the upcoming weeks, Bologna is reportedly in talks to sign highly-regarded Celtic youngster Rocco Vata, whose contract expires in the summer. Under coach Thiago Motta, the Rossoblu have been on a high this season. At the halfway point, they are only one point behind Fiorentina in fourth place in the Serie A standings.

The average age of the Bologna team is little under 25, and the team’s success this season has been largely attributed to a number of outstanding younger players like Joshua Zirkzee and Lewis Ferguson. Journalist Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports revealed that Bologna is in negotiations with Celtic and its young forward Vata, hoping to finalize a deal in the upcoming weeks. The eighteen-year-old’s Scottish contract is up in the summer.

Along with Sampdoria, Atalanta, and Frosinone are also interested in the Irish forward, whose training bonus cost would be approximately €400,000.

In 44 appearances in all competitions, Vata has netted 24 goals and given up one assist for the Celtic B team. He has previously played for the first team four times.
