Rangers: Derek Ferguson says only ‘one outcome’ to emerge from SFA row amid ‘tit-for-tat’ verdict

Derek Ferguson of Rangers says there is only “one outcome” to come from the SFA dispute despite the “tit-for-tat” ruling.
The Light Blues, incensed with the decision not to award a penalty for handball against Alistair Johnston during their 2-1 Old Firm loss at Celtic on December 30, asked Willie Collum to stop participating in their games.

Later, the SFA issued a statement expressing their ire with Rangers in response to the purported leak of private information regarding their conversations, which stoked further ire toward Collum, the match’s VAR.
“It’s always a blame game,” he stated to Ibrox News.

“You look at the SFA referee situation; they don’t want to go against their peers. If that’s their friend, colleague, or someone in a similar line of work, then that’s the worry with VAR.”

And they seem to be attempting to support one another. Rangers asked a valid question, in my opinion, and I believe there will only be one possible answer. Avoid getting into a tit-for-tat situation.

“There is a lot of history between the SFA and Rangers, so I don’t want to get into that too much, but I think they were quite right to go and ask the question.”

The controversy escalated when the SFA revealed stills that demonstrated that Abdallah Sima would have been offside during the build-up, preventing the penalty from being given in the first place.

However, a number of commentators contend that the penalty should have been called initially, and then the VAR should have gone back and overturned the spot-kick for the offside infraction.
