That is according to PLZ Soccer, which has reported that Celtic have already made enquiries. So, what has been reported about Celtic, Scott McKenna and Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.

The report has claimed that Celtic, who won the Scottish Premiership title last season, are among a number of clubs who are keen on securing the services of McKenna in the middle of teh season. The Hoops have made “tentative enquiries”, as manager Brendan Rodgers wants to strengthen his defence. In December 2023, FotoMac reported that Besiktas want to sign McKenna, adding that the defender wants to leave the City Ground in January 2024. My View: Nottingham Forest should sell Scott McKenna In my view, Nottingham Forest should sell Scott McKenna in the January transfer window and should try to get a decent fee for the centre-back.

McKenna is out of contract at Forest at the end of the season and is not part of the first-team squad at the moment. There is reportedly a dispute over his contract. I do not see any point in Forest keeping a player until the summer of 2024 and then letting him leave on a free if he is not going to contribute to the team. McKenna, who cost Forest £3 million (Press & Journal) in transfer fees when he joined from Aberdeen, is currently training away from the first team. The Reds are doing well without him and are winning matches. Nuno’s side have won their last two Premier League games against Newcastle United and Manchester United.

The Scotland international has made five appearances in the Premier League so far this season. During the 2022-23 campaign, the centre-back made 19 starts and one substitute appearance in the league. Forest are 15th in the Premier League table with 20 points from 20 matches, five points above the bottom three.
