Callum McGregor defends Kyogo for Celtic and believes he can make a difference for Rangers once more.

In an impassioned defense of Kyogo, Callum McGregor has predicted that his Celtic teammate will play a significant role in today’s Old Firm match.

The Japanese striker has scored just once in his previous seven Premiership games, bringing his season total to seven goals, going into today’s matchup with Rangers. After totals of 20 (despite injury) and 34 in his two seasons to far, it’s not what fans in this country have grown accustomed to seeing from him.

However, the 28-year-old has made a significant impact in derby matches in the past, including this season, and his captain will always have faith in him to perform well. He says teammates aren’t worried about Kyogo’s recent misses because they know he’ll get back on track, whether it’s today or later.

McGregor declared, “I always support Kyogo.” What a fantastic striker he is. Yes, he has missed a couple opportunities, but at least he has been in the right places to take advantage of them. He doesn’t squander too many, therefore you don’t want to give him too many.
