A star from Manchester United responds as Rangers announce  the  signing of his countryman to Ibrox.

The Gers announced the temporary loan signing of the 21-year-old striker on Thursday (28 December) as he looks to help Philippe Clement’s side battle it out for more major honours in the second half of the season.

The Portuguese posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Thursday, holding up a Gers shirt at Ibrox as the forward said it was “truly a pleasure” to have joined Rangers.

Whilst several of his Wolves teammates responded, Manchester United star Fernandes sent a like to his fellow countryman after his personal announcement.

It certainly seems as if Silva’s move to Rangers is a popular transfer across Europe with several stars amongst Europe’s top clubs congratulating him on his move to Ibrox.

here was plenty of support for Silva from his former teammates at Molineux, which may speak to how much of a positive influence he can be in the dressing room at Ibrox.

And a number of those messages to Silva cannot be any clearer given his struggles to get going at Wolves since his big-money £35m move in 2020.

Silva has just four goals and three assists in 62 top-flight outings [Transfermarkt] in total since his move to England – a record which certainly doesn’t grab the attention of the Rangers faithful.

However, the move across to Glasgow is supposed to be a career refresh for him and manager Philippe Clement clearly feels he can provide the youngster with the opportunity he needs to prove his talent again.

Rangers have struggled for a consistent source of goals for much of the season but have certainly tasted a much-needed purple patch in recent games with summer signings Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima now sharing 23 goals between them already this season.

Hopefully, Silva can add a few more to that tally and lead Rangers to an unprecedented Scottish Premiership title triumph.
