Scottish Football > Rangers But That’s – Rangers Legend Sees Other Side To Extra Rest Before Celtic Game Factor

Celtic faced Motherwell on Boxing Day, while Rangers’ game against Ross County was canceled.

Due to the postponement, Rangers will have more time to recover from their weekend match before facing city rivals Celtic.
Ferguson admits that Rangers will play fresher than Celtic, but he believes that the extra rest may be a double-edged sword for the Gers.

He stated that given Rangers’ current form, the players would have liked to play the game in order to maintain their momentum heading into the important game at the weekend.
“They’ll also be fresher than if the Ross County game had been played on Wednesday,” Ferguson wrote in his Daily Record column.
“Yes, players like Connor Goldson, who came off late against Motherwell, will have had more recovery time, but as a player, I’ve always wanted to play when the team is doing well.”

“So I’d rather have played the Ross County game and kept the momentum going, because that’s exactly what Rangers have right now.”

“When you’re winning games, you want to play as many as you can.”

Rangers will be determined to narrow the gap on Celtic to two points by winning at Parkhead this weekend.
