Philippe Clement declares Celtic is NOT his biggest Rangers challenge so far as boss makes case for conquered foe

The Belgian says he has already faced more difficult challenges than the Hoops and has not lost since coming to Ibrox.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement believes that his biggest test as of yet will not come against Celtic.

As he gets ready to make his first trip across the Glasgow divide into the Celtic Park cauldron, the Belgian manager has identified the Europa League victory against Real Betis in Seville as the most difficult opponent of his career thus far. Despite having played two fewer games than their city rivals, the Rangers are hoping to catch up to the Hoops, but they won’t have any supporters to cheer them on.

Even though this is the biggest test Clement has had since taking over for Michael Beale, the unbeaten manager seems unfazed by the prospect of taking on Derby Day veteran Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow’s east end. “I don’t think the biggest, because our away game against Betis was a bigger challenge,” Clement said in response to a question from Rangers TV on whether or not the match was the biggest of his tenure at the team thus far.
