Gers can land £3.5k p/w Hearts star on a free, he has been tipped for Ibrox move before

Over the past few transfer windows, Rangers have been frequently linked to a single Hearts player; however, it may be Beni Baningime, not Lawrence Shankland.

The 25-year-old midfielder’s contract expires in the summer, and the manager of the Gers could use more players in this area of the pitch.

Beni Baningime may be a steal for the Rangers since there are some doubts about that aspect of the team and money needs to be spent elsewhere.

Rangers can use Beni Baningime to replicate the Glen Kamara move.

The Hearts destroyer has grown up with the physicality of British football having played the sport for almost a decade on these shores.

Additionally, he moved to Scotland in 2021 after conclusively leaving Everton to join Gorgie on a free transfer, where he was reportedly paid £3,500 a week.

He was able to mimic Glen Kamara’s signing style on paper.

Cheap, reliable, familiar with the league, and possibly able to contribute a few pounds later on.

There’s just one problem.

Beni Baningime may find it difficult to set the tone and pass the ball aggressively for the majority of Rangers games; this is where our midfielders come into play.

Kieran Dowell is the most appropriate comparison.

Though his skills as a deep-lying playmaker and defensive midfielder are not natural, he has accepted the responsibility as though it were second nature.

He was at the top of the list of players to be let go in January, but he has since performed well enough in recent games to warrant a spot in Philippe Clement’s starting lineup on a regular basis.

The defence might benefit from baningime’s protection in more exposed away games or in European football.

Having a group of midfield players who all perform the same thing is pointless.

Rangers has a history of emerging victorious from competition, and Beni Baningime has demonstrated his skill as a player.

Connor Barron is a better player and considered a homegrown talent, so if it were up to me, I would prefer him. However, can you imagine the outrage from Aberdeen supporters?
