Manchester City star reacts as Rangers confirm Fabio Silva transfer

Matheus Nunes of Manchester City welcomed Fabio Silva on his loan move to Rangers after the striker responded to the news on Instagram.

The £53 million man [ESPN] joined Manchester City from Wolves and Silva in the summer, but he had some words of support for his old teammate as his move was revealed.
Silva has joined Rangers on loan until the end of the season, with Philippe Clement anxious to bring in a fresh striker to bolster the club’s title challenge.
Silva confirmed the deal on Instagram on December 28th, writing: “New club and new home.” It’s an honor to play for Rangers, and I hope we can celebrate many more successes together. Rangers, come on.”

Nunez merely replied to the Instagram post with “Vai,” which translates to “Go” as words of encouragement such as “Go on,” along with a red heart emoji to show his support for his former Wolves colleague.

The expectations are high.

The striker’s Instagram feed was flooded with words of support not just from supporters, but also from former teammates such as Nunes, ex-PSV wonder Xavi Simons, and Wolves players past and present such as Nelson Semedo and Francisco Trincao.

There is a lot of love for Silva from his previous teammates, which may speak to how much of a positive impact he can be in the Ibrox dressing room, certainly leaving a good impression on many people he has met across with earlier in his career.
Rangers

Rangers have struggled for a reliable source of goals this season due to the uneven play of Cyriel Dessers and the injury blows sustained by Danilo and Kemar Roofe, so the arrival of the Portuguese is seen with optimism at Ibrox.

If Silva can get off to a good start in Glasgow, he might immediately become a fan and player favorite, and if he can help Rangers defeat Celtic to the SPFL title, they will look back on this time as pivotal in their season.
