Ibrox View: Clement now set to unfairly wield the axe on Rangers man after new Ibrox development

Fabrizio Romano gave some encouraging news to Rangers fans on Thursday, December 28.

Pundits and supporters have long discussed the need to bolster their numbers, and that was before Danilo sustained a serious knee injury that sidelined him for the duration of the game.

Rangers man surely set for the axe after Thursday Ibrox development

According to Romano, who posted the news on his X account, Fabio Silva is currently leaving Wolves on a loan agreement that will last until the end of the season.

“Ahead of us, Fabio Silva to the Rangers! An agreement has been reached between Wolves and a Scottish club, with a loan period until June. The Portuguese striker will shortly sign the deal,” he wrote.

“Clement and Koppen are essential to its success. There won’t be a buy option provision present.

Thus, two days before a crucial Old Firm match at Celtic and a few days before the window opens, Rangers already have their man.

Although this is good news for Clement, Silva, and Rangers fans alike, Cyriel Dessers is one person who is not expected to gain from it.

This season at Ibrox, the 29-year-old striker has been a much-maligned figure, and it is difficult to imagine that he will not be fired in favour of Silva, who Wolves will undoubtedly expect to play a major role.

Furthermore, it would be extremely unfair for Clement to use this axe given his recent performance.

Dessers has scored once every two games, or four goals in his last seven games and five in his last ten. This is not a bad return for a player who has faced harsh criticism this season.

Of course, you can never have too many talented players, particularly with the way the Rangers have performed to force their way back into the title race.

Dessers, though, may feel a little taken advantage of if Silva takes his place right away, especially since he has just recently begun to show some true form in front of goal.
