According to John Hartson, Brendan Rodgers did not approve of the two players that Celtic signed.

Recent weeks have seen questions about whether Brendan Rodgers had total control over every Celtic summer transfer.

John Hartson reacts to Brendan Rodgers' ruthless actions towards Celtic star Hyunjun Yang

The issue was initially brought up by journalist Peter Martin nearly two weeks ago when he expressed his worries regarding Rodgers’ ability to choose who Celtic signed this summer.
A few days later, Mark Guidi repeated his earlier accusation that the Celtic manager was merely taking what the team offered him during the summer and wasn’t “hands-on enough.”

John Hartson now takes the turn. Based on Maik Nawrocki’s lack of playing time and Celtic’s likely January departure of Gustaf Lagerbielke, Hartson believes Rodgers wasn’t interested in keeping either of the defenders at Celtic this year.

“That tells me that he didn’t have a lot to do with signing these players,” Hartson remarked on The Go Radio Football Show.

“I believe that Brendan Rodgers would have been more inclined to collaborate and provide Maik Nawrocki and Gustav Lagerbielke with additional opportunities if they had signed.”

“But obviously, I don’t think he was, and I believe a number of players may depart.”
With Rodgers determined to add more quality and reduce the squad, January will undoubtedly be a busy transfer window for Celtic. Fans of the team will have a lot of activity to keep up with.

After the club’s most recent stellar financial results were revealed, Rodgers will be appealing to the Celtic board to spend some of the mountains of cash they have stashed in the bank account, since the team needs reinforcements in some critical areas.

The hope and prayer of Celtic supporters is that Rodgers can acquire the players he desires to support the team’s championship push in the second half of the season, regardless of what occurs in January.
