Southampton are interested in signing £6.5m-rated Celtic target

Southampton are poised to make a bid for Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski, who Celtic are also interested in. The Scottish Champions have kept an eye on the 24-year-old at various periods this season in order to improve their attack.

According to Record Sport, Southampton’s talent scout Darren Mowbray has been advising the club’s hierarchy to make a January approach for the North Macedonian International.

Aberdeen recruited Miovski in the summer of 2022 from MTK Budapest. Miovski has scored 32 goals and assisted on six occasions in 69 games since moving to the North East of Scotland. Mowbray was in charge of transfers at Pittodrie and is now lobbying for Miovski to move to the English Championship.

Brendan Rodgers has stated that he wants to bring in quality players, and it is likely that two to four new signings will arrive in January. Kyogo and Oh have struggled for form, whether due to a lack of supply or a lack of confidence, therefore attacking third is a priority.

Southampton have made a habit of signing Scottish players in recent years, with Stuart Armstrong, Victor Wanyama, Virgil Van Dijk, and Fraser Forster all joining from Celtic. Joe Aribo recently left Rangers in 2022, and Southampton were relegated.
