Rangers transfer news as attacker offered on plate for January already

The newspaper reported in its print edition [26 December, pg 42] that Celtic have also been offered the Portuguese sensation, who is set to exit Molineux until the end of the season.

Interest has been reported from both Old Firm clubs, with Celtic set to be busy as they look to arrest the slump under Brendan Rodgers with Rangers flying right now.

If Rangers wanted to get their January window off to a cracking start, the door looks to be open for that to exactly happen for Philippe Clement.

Silva has enjoyed a loan spell in Belgium with Anderlecht in recent years, so the manager likely knows the 23-year-old and what his game is about from taking in the action there.

It is unknown whether or not Clement is interested in Silva, but with that Premier League experience available at an apparent snip, it may be hard to turn down on loan.

Cyriel Dessers has improved in recent weeks, but with Danilo and Kemar Roofe both out injured in a consistent theme, another option is definitely needed in the final third.

It is no secret that Celtic are also in the mix though, and with the Scottish Premiership title race now really heating up, this could be the first opportunity to jump ahead of them.

With less than one week to go until the winter window opens, all eyes are still on that Old Firm showdown on 30 December, but that won’t end the battle there.
