BBC Sport reporter mocks RANGERS PLAYER for what he did after scoring in Rangers win v St Johnstone

BBC Sport Nick McPheat mocked Cyriel Dessers for his celebration – or celebrations – after opening the scoring for Rangers against St Johnstone.

Early substitute Dessers converted with 28 minutes played of Wednesday’s (20 December) 2-0 Scottish Premiership victory at Ibrox.

In BBC Sports’ live blog of the game [20 December, 21:04pm], McPheat said: “When you button bash the controller while celebrating in FIFA.”

Dessers certainly enjoyed his goal, so much so that he used up a number of celebrations at once.

The striker has to pace himself, though, because he is now scoring far more freely than he was across his first few months as a Gers player.

Indeed, Dessers now has six goals in his last 12 appearances, while he has opened the scoring in three league matches this season.

This latest strike against St Johnstone was well taken and set the Gers on their way for the most routine of victories.

The 29-year-old also won the penalty that James Tavernier converted late on, so all in all it was a great day’s work for him.

If there is any criticism, it was the lack of composure with the celebration! Dessers might have to go back to the drawing board for that one.
