International Rangers player now unlikely to stay at Ibrox
Jon McLaughlin and Borna Barisic updates emerge
Rangers duo Jon McLaughlin and Borna Barisic are unlikely to stay at Rangers beyond the summer, according to the Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reported via its website on 19 April that the duo have not been getting enough game time under Philippe Clement this season.
Barisic’s contract runs out at the end of the season and the same is the case with the veteran goalkeeper, who’s made two appearances for the Scotland national team.
Philippe Clement faces major summer rebuild at Rangers
Clement faces significant challenges at Rangers as the team enters a transitional phase with numerous players nearing the end of their contracts and McLaughlin seems likely to leave, having been linked with an exit in the winter as well.
Players like John Lundstram, Leon Balogun and Barisic are out of contract this summer, and reports suggest Lundstram could be on his way to Ipswich Town or Trabzonspor.
This potential exodus puts Clement in a position where he must reshape his squad according to his vision.
The Belgian manager has already started putting his stamp on the team, but with several players potentially leaving, he must act decisively during the transfer window.
His leadership leadership and strategic decisions will be crucial in building a cohesive team that can compete for the SPFL Premiership title.
Both McLaughlin and Barisic do not seem to strengthen the playing eleven but Lundstram is someone who’s been a regular under Clement so he might want to keep the midfielder.
