Rangers will not find it straightforward to secure the services of Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, according to David Edgar.

The Heart and Hand podcast host took to X on 26 July to claim that the Tynecastle outfit want £3million for the 28-year-old this summer.

Rangers must test the waters for Lawrence Shankland this summer

Shankland has been linked with an Ibrox switch for over a year now and he still has not completed the talked-about move.

Last summer, Gers signed Danilo and Cyriel Dessers and while the former suffered an injury-ravaged season and can’t really be judged, the latter was certainly not up to the mark.

For the Ibrox outfit to close the gap on rivals Celtic, they need a game changer in the final third and Shankland is precisely that.

Last season, Abdallah Sima appeared to be scoring goals for fun and his injury cost Gers momentum in the business end of the season.

Had Shankland been there, things could’ve turned out a lot differently and they’ve got to sign him if he’s available this summer.

£3million is also not that high an amount for a striker proven in the SPFL and currently in his prime.
