Hannibal ‘advanced transfer talks’ with Rangers as Man U kid wanted by Clement

The Tunisian international could make the switch to Ibrox on loan this summer

Hannibal Mejbri has emerged as a Rangers transfer target this summer with the Ibrox club reportedly in “advanced talks” to sign him on loan.

The Manchester United wonderkid spent last season on loan at Sevilla after making his decision amid interest from clubs both in the UK and around Europe. But his switch to La Liga didn’t quite bring the game time he’d hoped for as he managed just six appearances with five of those coming from the bench.

According to Africafoot, manager Philippe Clement has made the midfielder a “priority” option in his engine room and is looking to get a deal over the line with Copenhagen also keen.

The 21-year-old was watched closer when the Red Devils beat Gers at Murrayfield last week.

The alleged interest comes as the Light Blues push to get another loan move done for Wolfsburg attacker Vaclav Cerny while Joan Jordan of Sevilla is also of interest to Nils Koppen and the Glasgow giants.

Hannibal, meanwhile, has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and would likely benefit from a move to Ibrox should the higher-ups strike an agreement.
