Five potential next Rangers manager candidates as selected by AI including former West Ham and Crystal Palace pair

Pressure is mounting on Rangers boss Philippe Clement

Rangers find themselves six points behind rivals Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership table after the first eight fixtures of the new season. They were beaten 1-0 away at Kilmarnock last time out.

Pressure is starting to mount on their current manager Philippe Clement after their slow start to the campaign. With that in mind, here is a look at five potential candidates to replace him if he was to be given the chop, according to the AI Supercomputer at Sportscasting…

1. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s experience in high-pressure environments makes him the ideal choice for Rangers. His tenure at Manchester United showcased his ability to develop young talent while instilling a strong tactical discipline. His charismatic leadership and deep understanding of the game could reignite the passion at Ibrox, pushing the team back to the top.”

2. David Moyes

“Moyes brings a wealth of experience from the Premier League and a solid record of building competitive squads. His tactical acumen and ability to stabilise teams would be invaluable for Rangers, especially after recent struggles. His familiarity with Scottish football would also ensure a smooth transition.”

3. Frank Lampard

“As a former player and manager, Lampard possesses the charisma and vision needed for Rangers. His attacking philosophy and experience managing top clubs could reinvigorate the squad, attracting exciting talent and reviving the club’s attacking prowess.”

4. Graham Potter

“Potter’s innovative coaching style and emphasis on team cohesion make him an intriguing option. His success with Brighton and his ability to adapt tactics could lead Rangers to a more modern and effective brand of football.”

5. Patrick Vieira

“A respected figure in football, Vieira has shown promise in management. His playing experience and focus on youth development could help Rangers build for the future, although he may need more time to adapt to the demands of a club like Rangers.”

Moyes’ situation

Moyes, who has been at Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and most recently West Ham in the past, is one of the names that has been recommended to Rangers in the above list. The Scotsman is currently weighing his next move in the game.

When recently asked by talkSPORT about his plans to return to the dugout, he said: “I don’t know yet, I don’t know. I’ve not made that decision yet and I don’t want to make that decision. I just want to see how it goes. I’ve had some really nice enquiries from clubs and countries as well at different times, but I’m just taking my time and we’ll see how it goes.”
