Watch a fuming Kris Boyd tell ‘the truth’ about Rangers as gap to Celtic increases

Celtic fans were probably dreading the rest of their weekend after seeing their team drop points against Aberdeen at home yesterday.

Brendan Rodgers watched his Celtic side relinquish a 2-0 lead to Aberdeen to share the spoils and Rangers had the perfect opportunity to close the gap at Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Rangers blew their big chance after losing to Kilmarnock 1-0 and Kris Boyd was absolutely fuming at his old club for allowing Celtic to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Boyd says Rangers are ‘not good enough’ as Celtic stay six points clear

The defeat to Kilmarnock means that the gap at the top of the table remains at six points between Celtic and Rangers and Boyd fumed that what he’s seeing from his old club is ‘not good enough’.

Boyd told Sky Sports, “It’s not been good enough and you might be winning games at football, Rangers never dominate any game, never.

“There’s no intensity to play. There’s no sharpness. They don’t create anything. It’s more hope that they’re going to score a goal. The substitutions don’t impact games. They are miles off it.

“And everybody’s like, ‘Oh, here he goes, he’s having another go, he’s having another rant. It’s the truth, and the sooner people realise that this ain’t working, the better.”

Boyd rues Rangers blowing Celtic ‘lifeline’

Boyd also continued his rant after he was asked how can Rangers come to places like Kilmarnock to ensure they get all three points in the future.

Boyd continued, “I really, I don’t know. As I said you got a lifeline yesterday. You look at it and you think to yourself, ‘Right? OK, there’s a chance to get yourself back in a title race’.

“It’s not a surprise that result today. We said at the top of the show. I mean, Kilmarnock are a physical team will cause you problems. Rangers, there’s just nothing. I

“I mean, you look at Cyriel Dessers and I know it will always fall back on the striker, in terms of scoring goals, he’s going to be the one who is criticised, he doesn’t really get anything created for him either.

“They don’t create anything. They don’t create anything.”

Celtic can now look forward to their Champions League fixture against Atalanta safe in the knowledge that their gap at the top of the table instead of being reduced, has now grown despite the dropped Aberdeen points.

This season looks like it’s going to be an exciting one for the Celtic and Aberdeen fans but for the Ibrox club, it seems like this could be one they want to forget.
