Paul Tisdale Joins Celtic as Head of Recruitment
Celtic Football Club has reportedly appointed Paul Tisdale as its new Head of Recruitment, according to journalist Stephen McGowan.
Although the club has not issued an official statement yet, reports confirm that Tisdale is already operating in the role. His appointment follows the departure of Mark Lawwell, who had overseen Celtic’s transfer business through four windows before leaving earlier this year.
Tisdale, previously known for his managerial stints with Exeter City and MK Dons, brings a reputation for talent development. Dubbed a “Football Doctor” for his strategic approach to the game, Tisdale also gained attention for his distinct fashion sense during his time on the sidelines.
McGowan suggests that Tisdale’s recruitment philosophy may signal a new direction for Celtic as they look to improve transfer efficiency and explore new markets.
The move comes at a critical time for the club, as recent recruitment efforts under Lawwell faced criticism, with only a few players, such as Alistair Johnston, making an impact.
Fans now hope that Tisdale’s leadership will enhance squad building efforts and bolster Celtic’s competitiveness both domestically and in Europe.
