Leeds United and Sunderland in battle to sign ‘fantastic’ Bournemouth youngster, he only joined this summer

HITC understands that Leeds United and Sunderland are among a host of Championship clubs battling to sign Bournemouth striker Daniel Jebbison.

Bournemouth moved quickly this summer to sign the 21-year-old striker from Sheffield United after he rejected the chance to sign a new deal at Bramall Lane.

However, the Cherries believe that a season in the Championship could be the ideal scenario for the England youth player to develop.

As previously revealed by HITC, Bournemouth agreed to pay £1.5million in compensation to Sheffield United for Daniel Jebbison‘s signature.

There is no shortage of options for the young forward with sources telling HITC that more than half-a-dozen clubs have expressed an interest in signing him.

Leeds United are understood to be one of the Championship sides in the running for his signature.

The only signings made by Daniel Farke’s side so far are Joe Rothwell, Alex Cairns and Joe Rodon – whose brother reacted to his move.

The Yorkshire club missed out on signing Jebbison permanently this summer but they are still in the race to have him join on loan for their upcoming promotion push.

Sunderland want Daniel Jebbison to lead their line

Leeds are interested in Jebbison but they are facing fierce competition from their Championship rivals, including Sunderland.

HITC understands that Sunderland are showing the strongest interest in Jebbison and plan to have him lead their attack next season.

The Black Cats are preparing for the upcoming season with newly-appointed manager Regis Le Bris and they are eager to supply him with a new striker.

Any deal for Jebbison this summer would strictly be a loan agreement as Bournemouth have no intention of letting him leave on a permanent basis.

It is understood that they see Jebbison – who was branded “fantastic” by Sheffield United coach Jack Lester – as the ideal long-term replacement for Dominic Solanke.
