Leicester, England – Today’s Premier League match between Leicester City and Everton has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at King Power Stadium.
The decision was made after a pitch inspection by the match referee and Premier League officials, who deemed the playing surface unplayable due to heavy rainfall overnight.
“A thorough inspection has been conducted, and unfortunately, the pitch is deemed unplayable,” said a Premier League spokesperson. “The safety of players and officials is paramount.”
Leicester City FC released a statement: “We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. Tickets will remain valid for the rearranged fixture.”
Everton FC also tweeted: “Disappointing news for our travelling supporters. We’ll work with Leicester City to find a new date.”
The match will be rescheduled for a later date, with details to be announced in due course.
