Celtic set to replace Nicolas Kuhn with Isak Jansson, Kuhn’s replacement at Rapid Vienna

Celtic linked with Rapid winger Isak Jansson as replacement for Nicolas Kuhn…Jansson was signed by Rapid for just £200k as a replacement for Kuhn after his £3m move to Celtic in January 2024

Another transfer rumour has surfaced with Celtic linked to Rapid Wien winger Isak Jansson as they look to plug the departure of Nicolas Kuhn and restore some much needed depth in the wide areas.

Ironically Janssen who is a right sided winger was the replacement for Nicolas Kuhn when he left the Austrian side to join Celtic in January 2024.

Janssen a Swedish under 21 international who started his career in his homeland with Skene IF in the lower reaches of Swedish football before making his mark in the Allsvenskan with Kalmar FF which earned him a move to Spanish second tier side Cartagena.

Janssen then uprooted to Austria on a loan deal to replace Kuhn and has done enough in his short loan spell in Vienna to earn a permanent contract with our old friends, Rapid Vienna.

He’s not exactly a known name, but then again neither was Nicolas Kuhn.

Janssen boasts a decent record of eight goals and three assists in 33 appearances with Wien, but it remains to be seen if it’s a rumour that has any substance. It’s a report coming from Scottish Sun who report that the £3m-rated Swede Jansson is one of those on Celts’ radar after an impressive campaign.

The report also states that Lazio, Fiorentina and Ligue 1 new boys Paris FC have all been linked with moves for the Sweden Under-21 cap.

Celtic are set to sell want-away winger Nicolas Kuhn to Como this week in a deal worth around £17m with Brendan Rodger declaring himself happy enough to allow Kuhn to leave the club.
