Nottingham Forest have a secret weapon to replace Ramon Sosa, he joined six months ago

Nottingham Forest are preparing to sell Ramon Sosa, but replacing his role in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad doesn’t require unnecessary spending.

Sosa has been training privately before pre-season to get into good shape for his next move, with it being fairly clear since the end of the season that he had little chance of a future at the City Ground.

It’s looking like Palmeiras will be the Paraguayan’s destination after the Brazilian side were extensively linked with a move, perhaps a disappointment as Sosa wanted to stay in Europe.

For Espírito Santo, though, it can be chalked up as one to move on from, with someone already in the Forest academy ready to take Sosa’s spot.

Nottingham Forest have already replaced Ramon Sosa with Joel Ndala

Sosa will reunite with a Paraguayan teammate at Palmeiras, which will suit him, while Forest are set to avoid a loss on their investment with the Brazilians paying the same fee that Evangelos Marinakis paid Talleres a year ago.

The whole deal couldn’t be more perfect, especially given that Forest’s Joel Ndala could easily step in to cover Sosa’s role at the club, which consisted of very few starts last season.

Sosa only started four games and only managed to finish one of them, but his sporadic appearances would actually be perfect for a young talent like Ndala, who has plenty of promise but remains raw.

Ndala signed from Manchester City in the January transfer window on an initial loan that could then be turned permanent. In a short time at the club, though, he has already had the chance to impress Espírito Santo and the senior staff.

Forest may sign Samuel Mbangula from Juventus to bolster the left wing spot upon Sosa’s departure.
